Tropical High School Senior Portrait Session

The school year is coming to an end, the final test of the year is in sight, late night studies are over, what better time to reward your high school senior with a personalized high school senior portrait session.

Today we’re featuring McKenzie, a high school senior from Orlando. This beautiful young lady and her family have been vacationing on the West Coast since McKenzie was a little girl . We absolutely love that she chose our Southwest Florida studio to capture such memorable photos. Senior portraits are full of personality and the perfect way to showcase ones own personal style. We knew the second we met McKenzie she was going to be a breeze to photograph. With her vibrant personality and stunning style she owned this session and we let her imagination run wild. McKenzie was up to try everything from dancing around in the ocean and not afraid to get sand in her hair, no stopping her energy. Just Another reason why we think Senior Portrait sessions ROCK!

For this Senior portrait session we are on North Captiva Island at the South Seas Island Resort. Sitting on 330 acres of tropical preserve, 2.5 miles of which is pristine beach, a gorgeous marina and royal palm lined streets, its indisputable the resort offers an myriad of breathtaking scenery. We took to Sunset Cove for the majority of McKenzie’s shoot, loved using the over sized boulders that line the turquoise waters as our backdrop.

We just know McKenzie will go far in her ventures, the oldest in her family, our studio looks forward to capturing her siblings senior portraits in the near future. If you’re considering a session for your senior, our studio is here to assist you in deciding a location that suits their style. We also suggest personalizing this special milestone by incorporating a favorite sports gear or musical instrument. We’ve also seen many sessions with a favorite vehicle- most of all have fun!

– Congratulations McKenzie!

Captiva Island Beach Portraits at South Seas Island Resort

We captured these beautiful, creative family portraits at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island. This was such a fun family to work with! There was 17 all together and their story is really special to hear.

They had been planning a family beach vacation on Captiva Island with their mother. Details were being made and the trip was set. Unfortunately their dear mother passed before the trip arrived. In memory, they knew they wanted professional family photos on the beach to celebrate the beautiful life their mother lived. They had some beach family portrait ideas, and it was easy to run with their ideas. We love how the girls even decided to have their toes in the water for a couple of portraits. We love the sunset portraits at the end, where they are all wearing a shirt with their mother and grandmothers picture on it, in memory of her.

We also loved what this family decided to wear! Beautiful shades of blue! This complemented the beach scenery well. If you would like more information about what to wear for your beach family portrait ideas check out this great article about how to prepare for your portrait session.

This family was such a joy to photograph. We truly captured some beautiful Captiva Island beach portraits!

A Surprise Engagement in Downtown Fort Myers at the Veranda Restaurant

We have a very special Fort Myers surprise engagement story on the blog today. We have done many of these surprise engagement photography sessions, everywhere from the beach to resorts, and this one took place in the lovely river district in Downtown Fort Myers.

Our studio was contacted by Evelyn, to schedule a surprise engagement photo shoot for her cousin Jamey. Jamey wanted to propose to his girlfriend at The Veranda, which is a beautiful restaurant in downtown Fort Myers. This is where the couple went for their first date. Jamey also wanted both families to be there so they could share in the joy.

Our Fort Myers photographer arrived early, met with the family to go over the details and then waited behind a building in the courtyard. As soon as the happy couple headed towards the courtyard fountain, Jamey went down on one knee and asked Dianna to marry him! Our photographer followed the couple inside and upstairs to their “private table” for a few more photos and much to Dianna’s surprise, both families were waiting to congratulate them.

We wish the happy couple all the best as they start planning their Fort Myers wedding!

Fun Family Photos at Pink Shell Resort on Fort Myers Beach

The Glass family was having so much fun spending time with each other during this photo session. They took the opportunity to run around the beach, play in the water, and show their silly side in some of the portraits!

During sunset time, it looks like they have the whole beach to themselves! Pink Shell Resort on Fort Myers Beach is a great family-friendly resort and we have always loved taking our sunset sessions there.

This perfectly coordinated family helped us capture memories for them that will last a lifetime!
